Airconditioning Staff from India

Technically and traditionally, air conditioning was defined as the process of cooling an area. But over time, with the advancement of technologies and lifestyles, air conditioning has come to include literally any modification of the air’s condition – be it cooling, heating, ventilation, dehumidification or disinfection.

Invented and developed originally just for comfort, air conditioning is now almost indispensable – a basic necessity for homes, commercial buildings and automobiles; and more importantly, a requisite for several medical and industrial processes. Air conditioning, often referred to as HVAC [heating, ventilation and air conditioning (including refrigeration)] has not only become a significant segment of architectural budgeting and planning, but also an essential part of the basic functioning in hospitals, laboratories, mining areas, textile manufacturing and several other environments.

Recent pressures of economy and environment have lead to rapid and aggressive innovation in air conditioning technologies, systems and appliances with most emphasis on making them energy efficient, and contributors to health betterment. To minimize energy consumption, environmental damage and repair costs, efficient operation and maintenance of air conditioning systems is now just as significant, if not more, than their initial installation and incorporation.

Therefore, not surprisingly, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment in this sector alone is expected to increase close to 30% faster than other occupations (average), through the next decade, making it one of the top sectors that are expected to encounter severe shortage of appropriately skilled manpower.
